Had an awesome time with friends here! We explored Cartmel Racecourse and the beautiful surroundings. The staff were super friendly, and the breakfast was a highlight—lots of options. The rooms were clean and comfy, and parking was a breeze. Perfect location for restaurants too. Don't miss out on this cozy spot for your getaway!
One downside was the thin pillows in our room, which didn't provide the best comfort for sleeping.

Cosy room with modern styling! Quiet spot, loved the magical views after a short climb—perfect for a picnic! Nice to find a room designed with allergies in mind. Really felt at home here!
The WiFi was about as fast as a tortoise on a Sunday stroll. more hanger space would’ve been fab! Actual wardrobe or just a coat hook?

The cottage suite was fantastic with lovely furnishings and a private entrance. The views from the upstairs lounge were stunning.

Outstanding breakfast options, with a fantastic Full English on the menu. The cottage suite outside the main house offers ample space and a cozy lounge with great natural light, perfect for unwinding after a day on the trails.
The bathroom in room 8 has a sizable step that’s tricky to spot, making middle-of-the-night trips to the loo a bit of a challenge. In other rooms, the cramped dimensions can be an issue, especially for couples with wet clothing after a day of hiking. the bathroom ventilation feels inadequate, leading to a steamy atmosphere post-shower.

The Westbourne is elegantly decorated with a cozy feel, and the communal lounge provided a welcoming place to relax. I appreciated the accessibility of common areas, making it easy for me to move around comfortably during my stay.
A firmer mattress would enhance comfort for seniors.

Exceptional breakfast and friendly staff
I had a wonderful stay in a Small Double Room that was cozy and clean. The breakfast was a highlight with a fantastic selection, including perfectly cooked items and fresh fruits. The staff went above and beyond to create a welcoming atmosphere, making my experience truly enjoyable. One minor issue was the shower, which felt a bit compact, but overall it did not detract from my experience.
